Degrees are partaken per years generally. So it would be impossible for a 33rd Degree to be obtained in the time period alloted. Does anyone have any input on this? Crowley never received any degrees from "normal" freemasonry. To use their terms all the 33rd’s (He had 3, once in Mexico, once in France, and a last 33rd in England from John Yarker) Crowley received were from irregular Lodges.
The Grand Lodge of England's refusal to recognize Crowley was one of the reasons he rewrote the O.T.O. 0-III rituals to remove the Masonic connections. Frater C.U.G. 17:47, 26 Jun 2005 (CDT)
