The 99 Names of God, according to Islamic tradition, are the names of God that God has revealed to man. In the Hadith, the reported words of the Prophet Mohammed, it is said that he who memorizes these would get into paradise.
Many of them are part of Arabic person names, as in Abd ar-Rahman ("server of the Most Compassionate (God)").
The 99 Names of Allah according to the tradition of Islam are:
- Ar-Rahman: The Most Compassionate, Most Kind
- Ar-Rahim: The Most Merciful
- Al-Malik: The Master, The King, The Monarch
- Al-Quddus: The Pure, The Holy One
- As-Salaam: The Peace, The Tranquility, The Author of Safety
