On the Tree of Life, both the ten planets and the twelve signs of the Zodiac are attributed. The ten Sephiroth, or Eminations, on the Tree are represented by the planets. Some of the 22 Paths that connect the Sephiroth are represented by both the signs of the Zodiac and the seven "classical" planets.

The numbers below represent the Key Scale, a simple numerical system for cataloging the various correspondances on the Tree of Life.

The Ten Sephiroth

The Sephiroth are represented not so much by the planets themselves, but the spheres that contain them. In the classical system of Aristotle (384-322 BCE), the Earth was at the center of the Cosmos, and was made up of the four fundamental elements—air, earth, fire, and water. This is represented in Malkuth, the tenth and lowest emination on the Tree. The Earth was surrounded by concentric, spherical shells of aether. Seven spheres were the home of the planets. The eighth sphere was home to the "fixed stars" (which contains the Zodiac), and the outermost was the Primum Mobile or "Prime Mover", which gave motion to all the other spheres.
