Thelemapedia is hosted by [http://www.scarletwoman.org Scarlet Woman Lodge], a chartered local body of [[Ordo Templi Orientis]]. The current lodgemaster is Fr. do. The site was originated by [[User:Ash|Fr. Ash]] (John Bowie) in 2004. Fr. Ash has passed the office of managing director to [[User:Omega|Fr. Omega Baphomet]].

There is a class of membership that is responsible for the maintenance and caretaking of the site, called [[Thelemapedia:Stewards|Stewards]]. Stewards are Thelemapedians who have "administrator" rights. Their primary responsibility is to care for the welfare and integrity of the site. Editorially, they have no more authority than any other site member, and are equally bound to Thelemapedia editorial policies. At the same time, they do have special security privileges which they use to enforce policy when necessary. For example, they have the ability to protect and delete pages, block and ban users, and delete obvious vandalism. More than that, they are available for dispute mediation and as a source of assistance, essentially providing guidance and leadership within the Thelemapedia community.

On this page you can '''apply for Stewardship''' on Thelemapedia. See the [[Thelemapedia:Stewards|Stewardship]] page for a description of responsibilities and privileges of Thelemapedia Stewards.

Stewardship is generally granted to trusted members of the community who are familiar with Thelemapedia policies and have a substantial history of contributing to the site. They should be able to discuss issues without becoming personal. Even in the face of abuse and irrationality, a Steward should show patience and a willingness to listen and compromise. Finally, a Steward must be willing to do admin chores, such as making good wiki links, correcting errors, improving the category system, and maintaining the integrity of the various sections.

As the site grows, it is expected that the process for choosing new Stewards will change over time. However, at this time, the currect process is as follows:

Why I would make a good Steward?

Because I want '''power!''' err…. Forget I said that. I can’t say I offer anything special to the Thelemapedia community other than I know how wiki’s work, and understand the copyright issues relating to them.

In a way you can say I want to do this for selfish reasons… I want Thelemapedia to be great so I can use it for my Thelemic learning curve. I also want Thelemapedia to be a source for non Thelemites to learn more about us, so they can at least hate us for something we do and not some of the more far out ideas out there. ;)

If you would like an idea about how I handle conflicts, you might be able to get an idea from this site http://tinyurl.com/8gdtz My username on the site is Cug.

It is a thread in a conspiracy site’s “Secret Societies” forum about the O.T.O. I should note that my actions there are more aggressive than I would act here, but in this case your dealing with people who think the O.T.O. is part of the New World Order bent on taking over the world, so my frustration might have gotten the better of me in there.

You will also notice I gave Thelemapedia a plug ;)

Although the origins of this order are not clear, the '''Hermetic Brotherhood of Light''' was a Fraternity that supposedly descended from the [[Frates Lucis]] in the late 18th century (in turn, derived from the German Order of the Golden and Rosy Cross), and was the seed from which [[Ordo Templi Orientis]] was created. In addition, The Hermetic Brotherhood of Light also seemed to be strongly connected with the [[Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor]].

[[Carl Kellner]] (the Spiritual Father of O.T.O.), [[Paschal Beverly Randolph]] (whose book entitled "Magia sexualis" has influenced so much on the O.T.O.) and others were members of it. In Kellner's 1917 O.T.O. Constitution, it states in Article 1, Section 1:
