Many of you may know me from my site, '''Mages of Qabalah''', which has been running now for over a year. We have over 300 members, many of them Thelemites. And, while I am not a Thelemite, I have great respect for Thelemic ideas and beliefs.

I am also one of the founding members of the '''Order of the Sons and Daughters of Light''' ('''O.'.S.'.D.'.L.'.'''). Philosophical school reputedly founded by '''Ammonius Saccas'''; chief exponents included '''Plotinus''', '''Porphyry''', and '''Iamblichus'''. It was a development of new ideas based on the older Platonic thought (see [[Plato]]). Speaks of the One (source of all being), of the Over-Mind (mind, spirit, intelligence; Gk. ''nous'') which emanates from the One, and of the [[Over-Soul]] (or World-Soul; Gk. ''psyche''), which emanates from the Over-Mind. They flourished chiefly in the 11th and 12th centuries. Pope Innocent III proclaimed a crusade against them, but they seemed to grow under the persecution.

Some link the appearance of the [[Tarot]] with the Cathars and the Albigenses. It is said that they preached their version of the Gospel using the cards of the Major Arcana.
