Templates provide very a simple way to add boilerplate messages by using the {{template}} format. For example, if in the edit page you type {{stub}}, the article will display the "Stub" boilerplate message:

Stub: put at the top of pages that are stubs (i.e. very short articles)

Partial: put at the top of articles that have substantial chunks missing

Cite: a quick "discussion" message for users who don't cite sources
