In the Qabalah, Kether is the topmost of the ten Sephiroth on the "Tree of Life." Its meaning is crown, interpreted as both the topmost of the Sephirot and the regal crown of the Sephirot. The other Sepheroth are: Chokmah, Binah, Chesed, Geburah, Tiphareth, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malkuth.

Qabalistic Attributions

The following attributions are taken from 777, by Aleister Crowley. The small "#" links will show the full column of that attribution (i.e. all the names, planets, parts of the soul, etc.)

Quotes

  • Kether: The First "Emanation" of the Absolute. Kether is in Malkuth and Malkuth is in Kether, but after another manner, Malkuth reflects Kether, for that which is above is like that which is below, and that which is below is like that which is above. (Little Essays Towards Truth)
  • The word "ineffable" means beyond description, beyond speech. It refers to Kether, the ultimate Unity which is beyond all Understanding and cannot be comprehended even through the highest Wisdom. (Helena & Tau Apiryon, 1998)
