Gaia (mythology)

Gaia is the name used to represent the feminine deification of the Earthly biosphere planetary consciousness.

James Lovelock wrote a book called "The Gaia Hypothesis" which examines the ecology and biology of Earth as a vastly complex, nonlinear, self-regulatory system.
