Talk:Ordo Templi Orientis

Editorial Note: for the purpose of this article, the topic refers to the particular organization in nomine O.T.O. that is often called the ‘Caliphate.’ Despite the value placed on any existing evidence for or against this designation, this editorial decision is based on the following:

  1. The ‘Caliphate’ has been determined to be the legitimate O.T.O. of Aleister Crowley in the legal courts of both the U.S. and England.
  2. It is by far the largest and most active ‘claimant’.
  3. It is the most advanced in terms of organization and in attempts to reach the unmet goals set by Crowley.
  4. It continues to add to the knowledge base of Thelema by consistent publishing of significant Thelemic works. 

For all practical purposes, the 'Caliphate' O.T.O. has 'won' the claimant wars, and all such battles are now only of historical and theoretical interest. —“Success is thy proof” (AL III:42).
